By making mindful food decisions, we can vastly improve our health, energy, mood, and well-being.
Nutrition Education Knowledge is power when it comes to nutrition and health! My objective is to empower you to make healthy nutrition choices through education and individualized programs developed to address your specific goals. How this look varies a bit by person, by often includes a combination of some or all the following:
Individual or group nutrition counseling to develop a personalized plan for better health
Menu planning and recipe recommendations, as well as guidance in learning to create your own meal plan and shopping list based on your specific food preferences and shopping budget
Education on the impact of food quality and how to recognize high-quality foods
Detailed nutrition analysis and feedback on how to improve
Identifying nutrient deficits and addressing them with food and supplements
Targeted Nutrition for Specific Health Conditions While nutrition education is an important part of my work with clients, many people have specific concerns to address as well. In this case, I will work with you to create an individualized support program to target your condition. Targeted support programs involve general nutrition guidance, therapeutic foods to include, problematic foods to avoid, lifestyle changes, and herb and supplement recommendations based on your specific health history and goal outcomes.
Telehealth Services No need to worry about commute time, parking, or masks - all nutrition consultations are done via video conference from the comfort of your own home (or wherever you choose to log in), anywhere within the state of California.
Holistic and Individualized Support No two people have the exact same situation - genetics, lifestyle, diet, and overall health vary so widely that there is no single approach to improving health. This is part of what makes nutrition consulting so interesting! In working together, we will create an individualized program to suit your unique situation and goals.
Complementary Phone Call: $0 (15 minutes) The first step in our journey together! While not required, I highly recommend setting up a short call to let me know your health goals and any obstacles you've been dealing with. I will be able to answer any questions you may have about my practice and, most importantly, let you know if my expertise and background will be useful for you! If I believe I can support you, I can give you a rough outline of how our work together might look. If I don't think that I will be able to support you with your specific situation, I will always try to give you the name of another provider (nutritionist, acupuncturist, doctor, etc) in the area that specializes more in what you are seeking. My goal is for you to find the best possible support to get you towards your target state of health.
Initial Consultation: $165 (90-120 minutes) This comprehensive visit is to go over your specific health history, food preferences, goals & motivation, and dietary history. We will work together during this time to set up foundational changes and adjustments that feel manageable and meaningful to you, addressing the areas of highest priority first. We will come away from this appointment with concrete steps to work on and I will follow up with additional customized resources (educational guides, menu plans, recipe recommendations, book suggestions, etc) as applicable based on our conversation.
Followup Visit: $83 (45-60 minutes) These visits are scheduled as-needed to check in on your progress, re-examine what is working (or not working) for you, and adjust your next steps accordingly. As with the initial visit, I will send you resources based on our meeting if there are any appropriate resources to support you. If a detailed dietary analysis would be desired, we will often set up a followup visit to allow ample time to go over all the details (I have found it is generally overwhelming if included in the initial visit). These followups are designed to fine-tune and support you as-needed, and I do not have a one-size-fits-all guideline on when to schedule them. Some people want weekly or bi-weekly support while others only want to check in every month or two. And of course there are people who get enough material from the initial consultation to run with it and don't feel that they need a followup. You will be the best judge of what works best.
If your treating practitioner (MD, NP, etc) can provide a referral for nutrition services that includes a diagnostic ICD-10 code, I can provide you with a superbill for our visits that you can submit to your insurance provider for direct reimbursement. I do not file insurance claims directly.
